Kimberley Hub

The Kimberley Hub is a new LOV eye clinic in Broome. Our hub provides multidisciplinary eye health services across the Kimberley and into the Pilbara.

The Kimberley Hub is a health clinic that showcases how collaboration, innovation and technology can be harnessed to deliver services in regional and remote areas to close the eye health gap.

The Hub provides the necessary infrastructure to support remote clinical service delivery, ophthalmology and optometry training pathways and capacity building for local health workers as well as attraction and retention of health professionals and specialists.

We are proud to host Hearing Australia, Vision Australia and the UWA Rural Clinical School to offer interdisciplinary services in a shared space.

State of the art equipment

The clinic is equipped with state of the art equipment and is the base for the LOV team to provide ophthalmology and optometry outreach services from a regional location for the first time.

The resident doctors, optometrists, nurses and support staff collaborate with WACHS regional hospitals, Aboriginal Medical Services and allied health services to provide multi-disciplinary eye health support to North West residents.

Changing Paradigms of Eye Health Care in WA

The efficiency of regionally based services is underscored by the cost-effectiveness and our strengthened ties to communities, offering an opportunity to deepen regional awareness of eye health issues.

LOV Food is a hands-on education program consisting of practical health education lessons focused on changing poor eating habits, building confidence in preparing healthy meals and understanding the impact food choices can have on our eye health. The LOV Food Kiosk includes the availability of healthy food for visiting patients and the opportunity for community engagement through healthy food classes and the development of a community vegetable garden.
