We have two unaccredited ophthalmology registrar positions is available commencing in January each year, with six months in Perth and six months in Broome. The Broome role will be part of the regionally based ophthalmology service and is supervised by two ophthalmologists. The service in Broome has daily clinics, and comprehensive surgical service including vitreoretinal surgery. The Perth role will be part of our outreach ophthalmology services to regional hospitals in the Pilbara, Great Southern and Goldfields and supporting ophthalmology services to Metropolitan based Aboriginal Medical Services.
Weekly clinical teaching rounds occur and opportunities to provide education to rural clinical school students throughout the year.
Applicants will need a pioneering spirit, flexibility, and will reap the rewards of working in remote settings with Indigenous patients and seeing a wide range of clinical presentations to build a strong clinical skill set.
